At MIT, everyone lives in a dorm for their first year. Except our dorms aren't stuffy first-year-only houses (sorry Harvard), but places with distinct cultures where you can find a home and community that suits you!
Of course, in these trying times, you guys will have to experience freshman fall without getting to live in these awesome dorms. But you can still be a part of the dorm communities!
Here's all the details:
- All 2024s can explore the dorms and cultural houses throughout Orientation events, in an extravaganza of events called ESC ( ESC Events~)! This will run from Aug 23rd at 6PM EDT till Aug 30th.
- On Aug 27-28, 2024s can fill out a form (Dorm Placement ) ranking all the dorms. Then you'll be placed in a dorm's community!
- Each dorm will have their own process for welcoming y'all, and for placing you in different communities! Learn more on each dorm's subcommunities page (Subcommunities What?). This is coming soon!!!
- Your dorm and subcommunity will be there to support you throughout Fall 2020 (The Rest of the Semester)! And you're free to explore and hang out elsewhere to your heart's content.
