Welcome to MacGregor! Here in MacG, we have nine entries: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J (because I is imaginary, of course). Each of our entries has a unique culture that you can explore on our website! In a typical semester, First Years that are assigned to MacGregor through the housing lottery get to explore each entry and rank the entries. Then, an algorithm assigns First Years to the entries based on the rankings.
For SCUFFY, we have taken a slightly different approach. We will have 10 different subcommunities ready to meet you, each consisting of 4-12 upperclassmen! Our communities do not reflect individual entries but rather smaller groups of residents who are excited to connect with you and offer support throughout their first semester (though often these groups will be from the same entry). If assigned to MacGregor in the SCUFFY process, you will be randomly assigned to a support community, unless a preference is noted. We encourage you to explore these subcommunities through the events they hold during ESC and events after dorm assignments are complete.
