"You bonfire people do the most cursed things." — The Human

Bonfire is a floor of spontaneity, where you never really know what will happen, except that we will be sure to make it fun. As a floor, we are strongly chaotic neutral, though our residents span all parts of the spectrum. We frequently go on spontaneous adventures, whether it be exploring obscure parts of campus, bringing back a large branch from a Harvard playground, heading into Boston, or going to a dark room to flash lights and mess with our eyesight for an hour. In our free time, we like to do a wide variety of things including play D&D, argue about many topics from why love is or is not fake to whether a chicken is a bird, and test out awful, bad, and weirdly good board games.

We are a very social community and enjoy spending time together. We did not want to host The Milk, so we tricked Pecker residents into thinking they wanted it. Now our floor is mostly free of disgusting foods.

In the past we have hosted several themed nights including gymnastics night, self-defense night, Riverdale heckling night, taffy-making night, and roofdeck movie night. Our taste in music is diverse but seems to converge around musicals, angst, and classic rock. We have close connections with both Pecker and Black Hole and consider ourselves to be like Black Hole but with more clothing and like Pecker but with more chaos. Our residents are also fairly active within Random, across campus, and beyond campus, due to our hunger for power.

Bonfire — A Brief History

In reference to its location on the fourth floor, Bonfire was called Dom Four, and this word was painted in the kitchen. At some point the residents decided that they wanted a cool name like everyone else but were too lazy to completely repaint the mural. "Bonfire," it was noted, minimized the changes that needed to be made to the words. It may also reference the characteristic heat the floor gains in the winter, due to its location at the top of the dorm and the general principle that hot air rises. Now, some Bonfaari like to say the floor got it's name from the Great Random Fire that occurred on the roofdeck above the floor, but this is not true.

Stories!

We went plant shopping together and everyone got to help each other decide on plants. Not everyone got a plant but it was fun to look.
